HighPoint RocketStor 6628A 8-Bay Thunderbolt 3 Hardware RAID Enclosure

The HighPoint RocketStor 6628A is an eight-bay desktop hardware RAID enclosure for media editing, post-production and other workflows involving large sequential files. Supplied without drives, it accommodates 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA/SAS HDDs and SSDs. Two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide host connectivity and daisy-chaining, while integrated cooling supports the enclosure's operation.

The hardware RAID architecture includes dedicated processing and cache resources. HighPoint's DV mode manages large data blocks and write-back caching for multimedia workloads. A web-based management utility provides an array configuration wizard, with advanced options for block size, DV mode, spare-drive assignment and scheduled maintenance. Built-in NVRAM tracks writes in progress.

The enclosure supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and 50, as well as JBOD. Online capacity expansion and RAID migration allow changes to existing storage configurations. Up to six independent RocketStor 6628A units can be daisy-chained from a single Thunderbolt 3 host port. Supports Windows and Mac.
